Transaction Issues:

Q: How do I pay for my bag?
A: You will be sent an email with a link to PayPal, a secure payment network. The link will walk you through the steps of how and where to enter your credit card information. You do not have to be a current PayPal memeber to pay. Satchel Studio is a verified PayPal Member.

Q: How long does a bag take to ship after I order?
A: A non-custom order usually ships within four business days of the order (though usually fewer!) unless an item is out of stock. You'll be notified if that's the case!

Q: How much is shipping and handling?
A: Average shipping and handling on the west coast is around $7. Tracking or Insurance are $1.50 extra each, so let me know if you'd like them.

Q: How long does it take to design a custom bag?
A: It depends on the complexity of the design, how soon I receive the images from you, and how fast you need it, but most take around a week if the bag is in stock. Rush orders begin at an additional $20.

Q: Can I return my bag?
A: There are no returns on custom bags, but some returns or exchanges are permitted on standard bags, depending on the circumstances.

Satchel Care Issues:

Q: How can I take best care of my satchel?
A: Your satchel is a bag meant to be worn and used, but it is also a work of art and should therefore be treated with more care than an average bag. For example, though each bag is coated with stain & waterproof acrylic, try your best to keep it out of heavy rain, and spot-wash by hand. Contact Kelty with any cleaning concerns.

Q: Can I iron my satchel?
A: You can iron the bag itself, but DO NOT iron directly onto the image.

Q: Can I wash my satchel?
A: The satchels are washable, but to preserve the image as long as possible, its not recommended to do so frequently. Turn the bag inside out first, wash in cool water, or even better, spot wash by hand. Try spraying a protectant such as Scotch Guard onto the the image every several months for added protection.

Q: How is a satchel made?
A: All the collages for the bags are designed on the computer, printed on special paper, and carefully heat pressed onto each bag by hand. No two satchels are the same- its the little details, purposeful and accidental, which make each bag unique.

Other Questions:

Q: I saw a different bag type on your site before and it isn't there anymore. Is it still available?
A: The bag selection gets changed up from time to time, but I often have old stock remaining, so contact me with the details you remember and I'll see if I have any around!

Q: Does Satchel Studio have a physical store?
A: Not right now. Satchel bags are currently sold online, and weekends at the ferry building. Check the Sold At page for updates about other small stores in the area where they are carried. I love recommendations if you know a good fit!

Q: How can I get more cards to hand out?
A: Send me a note on the contact page or jot me an email with a request for more cards, and they'll be in the mail asap!

Q: Can I call about an order instead of emailing about it?
A: Absolutely. Call anytime, though I'm more reachable by email.

Q: What kind of giftwrap options are there?
A: Satchels can be gift wrapped with a special note on the bag's tag and brown paper wrap tied with green twine. Simple yet effective for just $5.

Q: Can I get a discount for ordering more than one bag?
A: Yes, please see the wholesale page for bulk ordering options.
